[Disability experience] Physical Disability Experience VR

2 types of failure experience VR

Disability Experience VR is a content designed to experience various inconveniences and restrictions that people with disabilities face in their daily lives through virtual reality. Through this, it was mainly developed with the aim of developing an attitude to understand and empathize with the position by experiencing the daily life of the disabled beyond simple experiences of disability.

    Pre-Checklist
    • 1

Choose between wired and wireless devices for training and operational purposes

Wired: Connecting PC and TV together allows managers to check in real time the trainee's progress (recommended for 1 to 3 units)
Wireless type: It is a type that is experienced with a single headset, and it is difficult to check the screen if you do not use a separate CMS program and mirroring function (recommended for large-scale deployments (up to 40 units))

Content Composition

The contents of the physical disability experience can be divided into [full experience] and [partial experience], and as a partial experience ① Avoiding illegally parked cars ② Buying toothpaste at a convenience store ③ Crossing a crosswalk without traffic lights ④ Collision with an oncoming electric kickboard It is divided into four situations. The linked 4D wheelchair allows you to experience dizziness and fear realistically through physical vibration and shaking in uncomfortable scenes.

  • STEP 1Roadblock driving

You can experience a situation where wheelchair wheels almost fell between old and damaged sidewalk blocks while moving to the edge of the road to avoid illegally parked vehicles. This allows you to experience firsthand how much illegal parking poses a threat to a wheelchair-bound person and feel what dangers these distractions can lead to.

  • STEP 2Buying at a convenience store

It's too trivial and normal for someone, but when you have to enter a convenience store in a wheelchair, you can't enter without a 'slope'. You can also experience the inconvenience of not being able to pick up items without the help of employees if the products on display are too high. Through this, you can feel the difficulties of small barriers in the daily life of the disabled.

  • STEP 3crossing a crosswalk without traffic lights

You can experience an emergency situation in which you almost collided with an approaching vehicle at high speed while slowing down at a crosswalk without traffic lights. The vehicle can feel the dangers and fears that physically disabled people can actually experience through the footage of the vehicle sounding a crack at the person with disabilities who are slowing down and threatening them.

  • STEP 3Collision with Electric Quick Board

You can experience a dangerous situation where an electric kickboard that drives indiscriminately approaches at a high speed and collides, causing a wheelchair to fall and fall. This allows you to experience how much electric kickboards on the sidewalk pose a threat to wheelchair users and be alert to walking safety issues.

a wheelchair simulator
The wheelchair simulator developed by Perrygood is developed in conjunction with VR content for physical disability experience and accurately implements the vibrational feeling generated when moving a wheelchair in a walking environment and the impact response when colliding with an object. Existing indirect wheelchair experiences have physical limitations such as safety problems and anxiety of experienced people in real environments, but this simulator allows a safer indirect experience of physical disability. Through this, you can experience the inconveniences and restrictions that can occur in the daily life of the physically disabled.

Q&A I already have a system built by a third party, can I buy only the software separately?

Yes, it's possible.

Even if it is no longer possible to support the existing system due to maintenance interruptions or production closures, if it is compatible with the HMD (VR device) owned by the customer, we can provide only our software separately. If the device model name is not confirmed or the information is uncertain because it has been built for a long time, we will provide technical review and consulting on whether or not it can be linked by just delivering a picture of the built VR device.
